Gala Day 2023

With Gala day fast approaching on Saturday March 4th, we're full steam ahead with recruiting volunteers and asking for your very kind donations. Gala day will be especially great for our new students and families to come along to and meet our full community. We can’t wait for this amazing day to come around. 

The day will be full of entertainment, carnival games, crafts, second hand goods, car boot sales, bouncy castles, food trucks and much more. Please put the date in your calendar and come along to support our fundraising efforts to reopen our playground (which requires a much needed safety upgrade).

• Bake sale: If you are able to bake for our cake stall, please email julia.scott@ajhs.school.nz with what you will bake and the whanau your student is in. Students can earn whanau points!

• Chocolate bar appeal: If you're willing to part with one, please bring a chocolate bar (any size) to school over the next few weeks for the chocolate coin toss carnival game. Please leave your chocolate donations at the student desk.

• Car boot sale: If you have some bits and bobs that you think could earn a few dollars, please consider our car boot sale, happening at Gala Day. The cost is $20 per car, and then you keep the proceeds from whatever you sell. Please email tania.betterton@ajhs.school.nz for more information or to book a slot.

• To volunteer: Gala Day needs many volunteers to run smoothly and safely. If you are able and willing, please email julia.scott@ajhs.school.nz with your time availability. You can just do a few hours or the whole day - completely up to you. Volunteers will be helping out with car parking, stalls, runners etc.
