Family Emergency Plan

Family Emergency Plans are plans you and your family design and put into practice should an emergency occur whereby the school has to suddenly close. Your plan needs to be agreed upon, clearly understood by family members, and reiterated every now and then to be recalled easily. The family emergency plan is specific to yourselves and may include a plan to ‘walk to Grandma’s house’ or ‘Go home with a best friend’.

Students will only follow their emergency plan if the school is closed suddenly (e.g. flooding, no water/power), and staff will inform them to follow their family emergency plan.

Students need to be familiar with their family emergency plan and any changes to it, so they are confident in what to do in the event the school is suddenly closed. Students who do not know their emergency plan will be advised where to go and be assisted by staff.

In a case of emergency (fire, earthquake), they are to follow the instructions of staff.
