Whipped Cakery Year 9 Visit

Our Year 9 Food Technology students are currently working alongside Whipped Cakery to develop a unique product for their food cabinet. 

Last week all three Year 9 classes visited the delicious cakery to determine what type of characteristics their products need to have in order to fit with Whipped’s product flavours and style. We talked about their customer flavour preferences, budget, time limits and what it takes to run a cakery. Students then had a tour of the kitchen and were given the opportunity to purchase a product. Back at school we carried out an eight point star analysis on the product, to further determine why Whipped’s products are so delicious and popular.

Students will now be developing their own products using the information we collected during our visit, to ensure they design a yummy treat suited to Whipped Cakery. One product from each of the three Year 9 classes will be submitted to Whipped, and they will then pick one product to be made and sold in store for a week.
