North Harbour Intermediate Hockey Zone Days
Last week we had two amazing days at the National Hockey Centre for the North Harbour Intermediate Zone Days.
On Wednesday our boys team attended and played some amazing hockey. They finished 2nd in their pool behind the overall winner Northcross, and narrowly missed out on a semi final spot as these were worked out on goal average.
In the play-off for 5th and 6th they had a tight match, but went down 2-1 to finish 6th overall.
Special thanks to Angela Simmons for all her time coaching the team and to Pete Saunders for managing the team. A very special mention and thanks to Zac Simmons for being our umpire for the day and having the opportunity of umpiring the final.
On Thursday it was the girls' turn.
Congratulations to our girls team on a fantastic day of hockey finishing 7th overall. We started the day with a great win against Glenfield, and then had 2 tough games which resulted in tight losses. Our final game for the day was against Pinehurst, with lots of goals being scored and the game ending in a 3-all draw.
Well done girls, we look forward to watching you continue to grow and play some amazing hockey.
A big thank you to Miss Goslin for her time and patience with coaching, and special thanks to Charlotte Searle for being our umpire for the day. We really appreciate it.
Term 3 Badminton Opportunities:
There are a number of opportunities for badminton in Term 3, so please ensure that you read the information carefully and register by the appropriate date.
Please note that registrations for the Term 3 sports competitions close at 9am on Monday 19th June 2023, and trials are being held from 3.30pm to 5pm also on Monday the 19th of June 2023.
TERM THREE COMPETITIONS
Year 9 and 10 Term 3 Competition: Badminton
North Harbour Badminton are running a modified Term 3 competition which students in Years 9 and 10 are invited to register for. We will be holding trials for our teams for this competition on Monday 19th June from 3.30pm to 5pm.

Year 7 and 8 Mini Term 3 Competition:
Unfortunately due to the flooding earlier in the year, North Harbour Badminton are unable to run their usual Intermediate competition, but are looking at assisting with running a mini competition with some local schools. We are still finalising all the details, but need to get an indication of interest and also trial players so that we can finalise teams. We will be holding trials for our teams for this event on Monday 19th June from 3.30pm to 5pm.
