ASHS Is Going Undercover

What is happening to the building at ASHS? Why all the scaffolding? We know you have been wondering as you drive past!

The Ministry of Education has organised construction work to take place at Albany Senior High School to ensure the weather-tightness of the gym and the main building.

The scaffolding is to allow the contractors access to the roofs of the gymnasium and the main building so that leaks can be repaired, skylights removed and new roof panels and gutters installed. Both buildings will remain open throughout the works in term three and term four, but because of the potential construction noise, NCEA exams will take place at Massey University Albany campus instead of at ASHS.

The work will be undertaken in stages to minimise disruption, and work will continue throughout the school holidays to ensure the project is completed as quickly as possible.
