Welcome to Term 3. I hope you’ve all had the opportunity to have quality family time and are looking forward to the new term.

The school holiday break provided us with some wonderful moments, such as Matariki, and a time of reflection, connection, and some rest. Another event to celebrate came from the sports world – seeing Aotearoa host the FIFA Women's Football World Tournament. What a beacon of inspiration this event has been for young aspiring footballers right across the globe. It is uplifting to watch these players who are role models for girls and young women everywhere. What a proud moment it was for us to see our Aotearoa New Zealand team win their first game ever, in a football world tournament. This tournament not only showcases exceptional athleticism and team work, but also reminds us of the potential sitting within all our students to pursue their dreams.

As we embark on this new term, let us carry the spirit of Matariki and the empowering momentum of women's sports with us. We are focused on continuing to build our culture of care and expectation, where all our students feel valued, supported, and encouraged to make the most of each school day, in every way.

It was heartwarming to meet so many families on Tuesday evening for our 2024 Open/Option event. The sense of community and shared partnership of student prosperity reinforced the role our school (and all schools) play in the development of our young people.

We wish our students attending Year 7 & 8 Sports Camp all the best next week.

Enjoy your weekend te whānau, and take care.
