AJHS visits ASHS to see Chicago

Article by students; Earl Legasto, Sarah Attraqchi, Anita Saunders and Heewon Lim

On Wednesday 24th of May, our Year 7 Arts Academy and Mamma Mia cast visited Albany Senior High School to watch their final dress rehearsal of Chicago. With only 1 month of rehearsals, ASHS put together a spectacular production

It was so cool to hear a live band accompany all the songs, it was something new that we had never seen before. This was an amazing experience for us because we got to learn and observe all the things happening on stage and off-stage. Their choreography was very dramatic and well fitted for each song, including the way each of them played and brought their character to perspective. Everything was on time and top quality, their acting felt very real as if we were in the scene. We loved the show and were amazed to see quite a lot of our ex students who have also performed in our previous productions of Grease and High School Musical Jr. It was exciting to see them on stage again, better than ever.

For some of us this was the first Musical production we had ever seen which has helped us see the outcome of hard work, dedication and determination. Observing all these different skills will help us with our upcoming production of Mamma Mia. Tickets went on sale on June 1st. We hope you enjoy our production as much as we enjoyed rehearsing and preparing for this show.
