Year 9 & 10 Exams

This year we are providing a further rich learning experience for our Year 9 and 10 students to assist them as they progress through to the senior pathways of their secondary school learning. Year 10 students will complete the NCEA co-requisites in Reading, Writing and Numeracy, along with short examinations (1.5 hours) in Science and Social Studies. Year 9 students will have their first AJHS examinations experience in English and Mathematics. The examinations will take place in a formal setting, with the protocols that you would find in any external examination. These will be taking place in early Term 4 following this schedule:

Our aim is to make the examination process a positive and enriching learning experience for all students, that equips them with the confidence, capabilities and resilience required as they move into the final formative years of their schooling.

Teachers will be fully preparing students with study and exam sitting techniques, and assisting them with opportunities to practise questions while providing feedback.

Further information regarding the finer details will be provided early next term.
