Fun in Science

This week our Year 8 students have been learning about acids and alkalis.

They tested different household chemicals to see whether they are acids or alkalis, and also made a rainbow with solutions of different pHs.

Our Year 9 students have been learning about the different types of rocks - igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic. They made hokey pokey to demonstrate the formation of igneous rocks, and created sandstones too.

Year 10 students have been learning about vehicle safety. They learnt the different safety structures of a vehicle, and designed a trolley for a special passenger - a raw egg! Students pushed the trolley down a steep ramp, where three out of six eggs managed to survive the crash.
