Welcome to "Kea Nest"

Stacey Ward —

As the numbers in Maungatere hub increased to the point of capacity, term 4 saw a new learning space set up.

Mrs Ward and our 10 newest children at Amberley school have happily moved into the Rewi Alley hall, where we have set up a new learning space called 'Kea Nest'. The 'nest' term is often used for new entrant environments catering for brand new 5 year olds,  where a safe and secure place for our tamariki is created.

In the photos below you can see some of our newest children enjoying learning about aspects of number through the numicon resource. This is a fantastic new approach to maths that allows the children to "see" the maths happening before their eyes. Come and ask Mrs Ward if you are interested in finding out more (it caters for ALL maths ages).
