Head Girl - Charlotte
Hi everyone
Firstly I would like to thank everyone for voting me into the role of Head girl I am very excited for the year to come. I can't wait to work with all of you and like you all, I am looking forward to meeting our new principal Mr Green. It has been a very busy couple of weeks, with swimming sports, Moana Hub Camp and Kowai Swimming on Monday night. I am sure there must be some very tired children and teachers!
Camp at Wainui was such an amazing experience. A huge thanks to all the parents and teachers who gave up their time to support on camp with transport, food and helping out on our activities. We had lots of fun kayaking, orienteering, coasteering and Achery, we also got to swim both evenings, there was a southerly swell whitch created beautiful rolling waves I wish I had brought my surfboard!
I was at KowaI on Monday afternoon watching the swimming. I noticed that we have a lot of great swimmers at Amberley School. Well done to the students who made it through to Canterbury.
I am hoping our school can have a mufti day to raise money for Fiji who have been so badly affected by Cyclone Winston. I know you will support me in this. On Monday Zac and myself took part in a march against domestic violence outside of the Council Building. The peaceful protesters walked from Leithfield school, they gifted our school a flax which we planted near Rewi Alley. This was our first duty as Head Students for Amberley School.
We have our first student council meeting coming up and this will be a great opportunity to share our ideas and get a plan of mufti days, and other things that we are going to do as a school.
See you around, feel free to talk to me about any ideas or issues.
Thanks
Char
