The children are really embracing the language of poetry.

 This term, we have looked at song lyrics, poems that tell a story, rhyme, haiku, tanka and many more types of poetry and language features. The year 8s have to write free verse poems for the Amberley show and so Mrs Houston has encouraged them to create poems that deliver a message. As we have been learning about note taking by watching David Attenborough documentaries and learning about Climate change, the children have used this message in their poems. The year 7s have to create their poem in a Tanka format. The children have done a fantastic job and we couldn't be more proud of them.
