Welcome back - Term Three at Amberley School
This term we gear up for our production - our students love the creative process and we know you will enjoy the end result.
Welcome to our new faces
We welcome Miss Kelsey Robinson to the team. Kelsey takes over in Pāteke and comes to us from Bailey Road School in Auckland. Our newest Teacher Aide is Erica Cairns, she is taking over from Cindy who leaves us to take up new studies. Erica will be working in Te Ngahere hub. We also welcome back Lance Taylor who will continue teaching in Kekeno.

Exciting new addition to the scooter track
Our school is looking fabulous, and we have used the last of our School Investment Package funds to create a link track to join the top of the school to the scooter track. This will include road signs to teach children how to ride safely.
Further funds have been used to tidy up our garden areas, including concrete garden borders around Te Ngahere and Rewi. These have been designed to keep children off the garden, but also to encourage balance and fine motor skills (they are wide enough to walk on).

Our board is planning for the future of our school. This is part of our legal obligations and is called ‘Strategic Planning’. It also forms part of our Charter each year. The process takes time and involves more than just the Board of Trustees. It also provides a great opportunity for you to have an input into the future of your school, specifically what will happen over the next five years. We want to determine the ‘Vision’ and the main ‘Strategic Goals’ or ‘themes’ so that we have a clear, exciting direction for the next five years.
Naturally, everything will be channelled towards on-going improvement in Teaching, Learning & Achievement as well as the look of our school environment.
Your input is vital and there will be two main opportunities for you to provide this. The most important thing is that you take at least one of them. These opportunities include this questionnaire and then later a collaborative brainstorming session of this collated information at school with the Board, Staff, Student Council, Parents and members of the wider community. This will be in Term Three. During this session a clear vision of the future will emerge and the Board will use this information to put together the Five Year Strategic Plan.
