     THE HORRIFYING WAR

The horrifying war

It’s a horrible place to be

The wives are waiting for their husbands to come home

The soldiers are waiting in the trenches for another attack

The soldiers are cold and wet wishing they were back at home

The soldiers can see the the bullets go flying past their heads

The soldiers are scared to go to sleep at night

The horrifying war

Lest we forget

Cristiano Ronaldo Dos Santos Aveiro

Early Life

Cristiano was born in Madeira, Funchal, Portugal, on the 5 February 1985. His dad was a gardener and his mother was a cook. Cristiano was named after his dad's favourite actor Ronald Reagan.

Childhood

In his childhood he lived on the coast of Funchal and was the youngest of four. When he was young his parents took him to church and has been a Catholic ever since. As a child he lived in Funchal. He has lived there most of his life. Cristiano went to Escola Básica e Secundária Gonçalves Zarco for his entire schooling.

Adulthood

In Cristiano’s adulthood, Cristiano got into the Portugal’s national football team in 2003. He got signed to Manchester United in 2003 and stayed in Manchester United for 3 years. In 2011 Cristiano got his first Ballon d'or, which is the award for the best player in the world. He two years later he got two consecutive ballon d'or in 2013 and 2014 and got the latest one this year and is now 1 ballon d'or behind Lionel Messi (who is literally his rival). He is now playing for Real Madrid in the Liga BBVA.

Becoming famous

Cristiano is famous for playing football and is one of the best at it, he is so famous that over the years he has been noticed so much, things have been named after him like Museu CR7 airport and he even has a galaxy named after him called CR7 mantle. Cristiano has got a statue as well in his home airport in Madeira and it looks nowhere like him at all.

Life at the moment

Cristiano is living in Funchal, Madeira at the moment and has a son called Cristiano Ronaldo JR and is 7 years old. He is 32 year old and is travelling around constantly for all of his game against other teams in the Liga BBVA.

My feelings about Cristiano

I like Ronaldo because he is an influence to me to try my hardest to be in a professional football team and be noticed for the stuff I do. I also like Cristiano because he has taught his son to be very good and one day I bet he will be as good or even better… and he's only 7!

I hope one day I will be like him and get a Ballon d’or.

My Horse

Crystal eyes glare into the sun

The fresh morning air fills her lungs,

Head held high prancing around

My dog starts howling, a long lasting sound.

Autumn leaves fall to the ground,

Landing silently, not a sound.

Hoof marks inprint the grass

Moving freely with such class.

Dancing to the sound of the breeze

Her thick long tail swishing with ease

Galloping round happy as can be,

I giggle and laugh of the sight I see.

Bring her in show her affection,

The look she gives me is perfection.

Cuddles here cuddles there,

Happiness is in the air.

Guess the Colour

This colour is the colour of the flowers of a kowhai tree. It’s a colour of a famous submarine. The colours the shade of someone’s name. It is a warm, soft colour, like a baby chick. Or the warmth of sunlight in springtime streaming through a window, warming up a patch on your carpet. It’s the pale colour of an onion’s skin. It’s the refreshing look of an ice cold drink of homemade lemonade. The colour of a bright daffodil or dandelion. This colour is the colour of tweety or big bird.

Can you guess what the colour is? ………..

Maya Taylor

On the 7th of April, I had a St John competition.

It wasn't a very good start of the day because I thought I was being pickup at 7: 30 but it was actually 6.30! A very rude awakening after being tired from campI was in a team with 3 other people. It was lots of fun and we won lots of placings. Here are the places we got.- 1st place drill - Drill is where you do some random turns and where you have a Commander to tell you what to do, you have to march together. all the comands we have to move as a unit. you lose marks for doing things wrong. We got the highest score out of all the teams even though we felt we didnt do so well. - 1st place step pairs 1 and 2 -1 and 2 step pairs are when you have a team and the front people go into a test together and the same goes for pairs 3 and 4. When yopu are in a first step pair we have a person in a room away from the big hall. we also have to fix up a persons wound that is in a small cramp room - 1st place step pairs 3 and 4 - same as above.- 1st place team first aid- team first aid is where the whole team goes out to a test and has their first aiding skills tested .- 1st place caregivers- caregivers is were the whole team goes into a small room and has 2 -3 people and take care of there problems.- 2nd place team leader first aid- team leader first aid is where the team leader outside and does a test where she/he has to help someone.- The overall Jr team cup
