Bingo Tonight 9th Sept - Tickets available at the door.

Simon Green —

As we speed through a busy term, it's important to remember two essential dates for your calendar:

Friday 9th September. This is a major fundraiser for Amberley School and you certainly don't need to be a Bingo fan to have a good time! Please support our awesome school by coming along to this fun event. Tickets from the school office, Sally Mac's or Pukeko Junction.

Wednesday 14th September. Our School production. Next week tickets will be on sale (gold coin donation) for the matinee and evening performances.  Our students and teachers are working hard to put together a fantastic performance for you all.

Thank you to the parents that took the time to give feedback on our proposed changes to Year 7 and 8 technology. We appreciate your comments. Towards the end of this term/beginning on next term we will again be asking for your feedback but this time on the strategic direction of Amberley School. It's fair to say that we have some pretty exciting plans for the future.

Today we had the NZ Trucking Association at school. This was a powerful reminder of the importance of road safety for Amberley families. Take some time to talk to your children about what they learnt from this today, and how this impacts on them (whether it is walking, biking to school, or simply crossing a road that trucks might use). We want to keep our children safe.

Congratulations to the senior students who participated in the school speech competition this week. As always, the standard of the finalists is high. Successful Year 7/8 students are now invited to take part in the Hawarden Waikari Speech competition. Congratulations also to our two Cantamaths teams who represented Amberley School at the Canterbury finals and had their best ever results. Awesome!

You may be aware that some local schools are closing early on Wednesday 14th September for teachers to attend a union meeting. This is the day of our production so Amberley teachers will not be attending on this day, therefore our school will not be affected by this early closure.
