Welcome to Maungatere!
This year we have year 0-2 children in our hub. Mrs Nicky Lotz, Mrs Stacey Ward, Mrs Juliet van den Heuvel, and Janel Murray are the hub teachers.
Mrs Lotz is teaching in Ruru and has the year 1 and 2 children in her homeroom.
Hi - My name is Mrs Lotz and I am in my 5th Year at Amberley School. To say I love teaching here is an understatement! Amberley School is like family - when I am here I am in my happy place :) My son Alfie is in year 8. He started Amberley school as a year 1 with Mrs Dean. I loved the inclusive, family feel to the school and almost begged for an opportunity to work here! My daughter Jaz is also a teacher and is travellingthrough Asia, Africa and Europe this year. My son Harley works for our family engineering business with my husband Gary. We have lived in Amberley since emigrating to NZ 12 years ago. This year I am team teaching in Maungatere with Mrs Ward. This will be our second year together and as well as making a great team, we are also great friends! I feel very lucky to work within a staff who are kind and supportive. I am looking forward to developing our Learn through Play programme and I am passionate about flooding kindness through our amazing community!
Mrs Ward teaches in Kea and has the newer year 1 children with her. On Thursdays, Mrs Juliet van den Heuvel teaches in Kea, when Mrs Ward is on management release.
Kia ora koutou - My name is Mrs Ward and I am looking forward to my second year at Amberley school, teaching in Maungatere hub. I have been teaching for nearly 25 years now, and am excited by the fact that I still come to school and learn something new everyday!
I live in Rangiora with my husband Darryn and 11 year old son Charley. They both go to North Loburn school where Darryn is Principal and Charley is in year 7. When we are not at school, we enjoy getting fit, supporting Charley in his sport, and when there is time we like to explore the outdoors somewhere!
Teachers and children in Maungatere have all enjoyed an amazing first week back at school, having lots of fun playing and making new friends. Our hub has lots of new play based learning areas and resources for the children to explore. We have had 3 new children start in our hub this week and are looking forward to getting to know them and their families.
