Events and details for our final week of 2022
We have all made it - the final week of 2022. This article lets you know the different things going on for our final three days, and the details for each event.
Monday 12th December
- School uniform for all ākonga as usual
- Year 6 transition trip into Wellington City (all day)
- Year 6 graduation dinner at school 5:30 - 8pm
Tuesday 13th December
- Non-uniform day for all ākonga (wear own choice clothes)
- Water play fun from 11:30 - 1pm. Choice of water play activities (water fight, sprinklers, slip 'n' slide, water trough play) or non-water activities (inside games, outside giant games or sports fun games). For the water fight, children can bring their own water gun. The water fight is only on the netball courts - children can avoid the water fight entirely if they do not want to be involved.
- If children want to do any water activities, they must bring swimming togs or shorts and a top they can get wet, and a towel. *Please note: the weather looks very sunny for Tuesday. Please ensure your child has a sun hat and a rash vest / top to wear that they can get wet. We will ensure all children wear their sunhat and have sun block on.
Wednesday 14th December
- School uniform for all ākonga as usual
- School celebration assembly 9:15 - 10am in school hall. We will farewell all year 6 leavers, all students in years 1-5 who are leaving Amesbury, and our three staff members who are leaving (Bronwyn, Gemma, and Kalesha). Parents and whānau are welcome to attend.
- School sausage sizzle 11:30 - 1pm. All students will have a final picnic outside in whānau groups. Sausages (normal beef/pork, vegetarian, chicken) and veggie sticks will be available for all students. Please also send some lunch with your tamariki as well, as they can get hungry. Ice blocks will also be give to all students. (No money needed - the sausage and ice blocks are our farewell for the year from the school.)
- School closes at 1pm.
- Tamariki will leave from their whānau groups outside after the picnic. Kelly Club After School Care will start at 1pm for tamariki booked in with them.
