Movin' March is here!

Natalie Douglas —

We’re proud to be a Movin’March school and this month we’re looking forward to seeing whānau and students walking or wheeling to or from school.

This week kicks off Movin' March! Students will have a passport card in their classrooms to get stamped each time they walk or ride to school. Students who have any amount of stamps on their card will go into the draw to win a $400 MyRide voucher too! Along with this amazing prize, we will have some spot prizes that will be given out each week.

Here is some more information about different things that you can get involved in too.

Whānau Photo Competition

Whānau can enter a photo of their journey to school and be in to WIN 1 of 5 x adult or child Micro Scooters! We’re also giving away family passes to Staglands Wildlife Reserve or Zealandia. WOW… that’s 15 prizes to be won! Go to the Movin’March Facebook page and share your photo in the comments under the weekly theme post. Winners announced by 8th April.

Park & Stride

If you live ‘too far away’ why not try a Park and Stride? You can still get your passport stamped at the gate! It helps reduce congestion around the school gate, gives tamariki exercise and whānau get to share precious moments on the way to or from school.

Walking School Bus

We are currently looking for volunteers to help us get a walking school bus up and running! Once we have a few, I will hold an online meeting and we can make a plan from there. If your interested in helping out, please email me on natalie@amesbury.school.nz.
