Year 3 and 4 Camp - Term 4 2018

Amesbury Office —

As we rush through the year, we are sending out the information for our Year 3 and 4 end of year camp...

The Year 3 and 4 camp - Thursday the 29th of November - Friday the 30th of November.

Outdoor education provides students opportunities to develop personal and social skills; to become active, safe and skilled in the outdoors; and to develop a passion for outdoor education and the environment. This is our first general information email. In Term 4 closer to the camp, we will email final confirmation details around camp, including a gear list. All camp information will be on the school website under the Year 3/4 tab.

All Year 3 students in Koru Hub will officially move over to Harakeke on Monday 26th November (start of Week 7 of term). The camp will then be run on Thursday and Friday at the end of that week. The entire transition week will be a great way for the two year groups to work and learn together to prepare for the following year. Once the students return from camp, all Year 3 students will then stay in Harakeke for the remainder of the school year.

Camp programme-

This year for the year 3 and 4 camp we will be travelling to Silverstream Retreat in Upper Hutt. On the Thursday we will be completing a bush walk in Kaitoke Regional Park, heading to the H2O Xtreme Aquatic Centre and after dinner learning how to line dance. On the Friday we will be completing fun activities at the camp and surrounding area, leaving by 2pm on the Friday.

Permission form-

Here is the link to our Camp Consent Form. Please complete this form for your child/ren by Labour Weekend. We would love parents and caregivers to come and join us for any part of this camp. We will be looking for some additional help with supervision on the day trips, and we will also be grateful for additional help on our overnight stay at Silverstream Retreat- it will be lots of fun! There is a section on the consent form to fill in if you are able to help with any part of the camp.

Payment-

The cost of this camp is $95. A $30 non-refundable deposit will need to be paid by 26th October to secure your child’s place, and the balance of $65 will need to be paid by 9th November.

The invoice for this camp will be added to your account via the online shop (under “Student Invoices”). Camp fees must be paid in full by Friday 9th November.

Please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions about the camp.

Warm regards,

Lisa, Georgia, Hazel, Derek and Angela
