Netball concludes for 2023
The Amesbury Netballers are enjoying their well-earned rest after an intensive season of Saturday games.
Our young athletes battled the elements yet again across Terms 2 and 3 to compete in the Northern Suburbs Outdoor Netball League at Newlands Intermediate. Starting as far back as the 22nd of April our two teams; Amesbury Aces and Amesbury Ferns, played competitively against a number of other schools in our zone.
They sharpened their skills each week at practice and enjoyed displaying their abilities on the weekend whilst being supported by their whānau. A huge well done to everyone involved for your prolonged enthusiasm and dedication. A special thanks to the coaches and managers who helped guide and develop our ākonga throughout. These were Sarah Gailitis, Wendy Stalberg and Sophia Savva-Follows who were coaches of the Year 5 Ferns team. For the Year 6 team, we are grateful to Rachael van Rij, Melissa and Mike Connolly. We greatly appreciate all you have done for our kura on the courts over the last two terms! A reminder for any players with outstanding netball skirts to return them to Eilís as soon as possible.
Amesbury are seeking a netball delegate for next year. Each school must appoint at least one delegate to represent the school, and vote on the schools behalf at Northern Suburbs Netball meetings. If you are interested in this position or wish to have more information please do not hesitate to reach out to Eilís on eilis@amesbury.school.nz.
Kind regards
Eilís
