Urs Cunningham —

Kia ora e te whānau,

As we head into the final week of the term, it is timely to give you an update on the progress of our fabulous new hub building.

The hub is looking amazing. As you can see from the photo, the colourful koru design is now up on the building facade, and it looks so striking. Thanks as always to Ruia for the fantastic progress photographs from her garden. The colours around the outside of the building really pop as you move towards it, and the hub fits well with our current buildings, whilst retaining its own unique features.

We are very close to completion, and the building now looks almost finished, which is very exciting. The timing of completion of the building has needed adjusting, as focus has been on completing the interior of the building, and the exterior of the front of the hub has fallen behind a little. We were originally hoping to have Pōhutukawa ākonga move into the space (over the two floors) at the start of week 3 next term, and this will now happen for the start of week 5. We are hoping to have our building blessed on Monday of week 5, and then have the students move into the spaces shortly after. We are so close and it is looking incredible inside - we are on the final stretch!

As this timeline has slipped slightly, full completion of the exterior and interior of the building has similarly needed adjusting. Pōhutukawa Hub will move into the new building in week 5, with the northwest exterior side of the building still being completed at that time. The exterior will be fully completed by early Term 4, and this is when we will look to have our formal opening.

In finishing, a huge well done to all of our Amesbury's Got Talent finalists. We had our final today, and it was fabulous. Well done to Caitlin, Angela Y, Nivaan, Kiaan, Vedant, George, Kishore, Aarush and Aayan, Oliver H and Christopher. Special well done to Greta and Matilda for achieving third place, Heidi for placing second, and Kyla for winning first place. All of your talents were amazing, ka rawe! Finally, a HUGE thanks to Kirat for her tireless oversight of the whole event. We love your enthusiasm, hard work and great  organisation.

Kia pai te rā whakatā, have a great weekend. Ngā mihi,

Urs
