Exploring the World Through Inquiry: Join us on our School Trip!

Onaitta Setefano —

We are thrilled to announce that this term, we have an exciting school inquiry trip planned for our ākonga. It's an excellent opportunity for our young learners to explore and learn beyond the confines of the classroom and promises to be an enriching and unforgettable experience.

Dates to Mark on Your Calendar:

The school inquiry trips will take place during Week 7 of this term, from 28th August to 1st September. Here's the breakdown of the trip schedule for each hub:

  • Koru Hub: Monday 28th or Tuesday 29th August.

  • Harakeke Hub: Thursday 31st August or Friday 1st September.

  • Pōhutukawa Hub: Tuesday 29th August, Wednesday 30th August, or Friday 1st September.

Exciting Destinations:

Each hub will have the opportunity to explore different places, allowing our students to delve into diverse subjects and expand their horizons. Here are the destinations for each hub:

  • Koru and Harakeke Hubs: These two hubs will be visiting the wonderful Wellington Museum. The museum is rich in history and culture, providing an interactive and educational experience that complements our current inquiry.

  • Pōhutukawa Hub: Our Pōhutukawa ākonga will be visiting Capital E, a creative and innovative learning destination that encourages exploration, creativity, and critical thinking.

Parent Helpers Needed:

To ensure the safety and success of our inquiry trip, we kindly request the assistance of parent helpers. We greatly appreciate the involvement of parents during such events. If you are available and willing to help, please get in touch with the Learning Leader for your child’s hub:

Costs:

To help with the cost of the trip, we ask for a contribution for each child, as follows;

  • Koru Students - $12.00
  • Harakeke Students - $14.00
  • Pōhutukawa students - $15.50

This will help to cover the cost of the bus and the experiences students will participate in. This can be paid through Kindo, the online shop by clicking on 'Wellington Trips_28 Aug-01 Sep" from the Kindo home page. You'll then have the option to choose the contribution amount for your child(ren) in either Koru, Harakeke or Pōhutukawa. Please note that all contributions will be tax deductible.

Lunch orders:

As some of the trips land on lunch order days, please be sure to cancel any order you may have in place for that day and send your child(ren) to school with a full packed lunch.

Thank you again for your continuous support in shaping the young minds of our students. Together, we can make this school inquiry trip a resounding success.
