Drama Remedy Holiday Programme
Matariki school holiday programme at Wellington City Libraries
Whakanuia a Matariki! Celebrate Matariki with Wellington City Libraries these holidays, 1 – 16 July. Join us at the bonfire for hot chocolate and cosy stories, become a celestial navigator with our star maps and introductory D&D sessions, unleash your creativity with nature-inspired art and LEGO® sessions as well as puppetry performances and much more! Wellington City Libraries Big Book Sale, 7-10 July
The Wellington City Libraries Big Book Sale 2023 is taking place at St Patrick’s College Hall (581 Evans Bay Parade, Kilbirnie), from the 7th to the 10th of July, 10am-4pm daily.
Browse a selection of pre-loved books, CDs, DVDs, songbooks and music scores, comics, magazines, and more – we’d love for them all to find loving new homes.
With prices as low as 3 items for $1 (for marked collections), it’s the perfect opportunity to bag a bargain or find a hidden gem. We’d love to see you there.
Hockey School Holiday Programme
Looking for something outdoors to keep the kids entertained these school holidays. Wellington Hockey is excited to be offering a school holiday programme for kids aged 5 to 12 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays of the school holidays. This programme is designed to be fun and engaging for both kids new to hockey with no previous experience and those who already play.
The school holiday programme will be held at National Hockey Stadium, Mt Albert, Berhampore rain or shine and led by our Development Officer, Regan Fricker.
Bring lunch and snacks, a drink bottle, a jacket, and a change of clothes in case the weather changes. Sticks and sports equipment will be available. We will make the most of our time on the turf where possible but if it is too wet or cold, we will move indoors for activities, games and movies.

NZSO Open Doors - Saturday 29 July
The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra is very excited to announce the NZSO are returning to Wellington's Michael Fowler Centre for Open Doors on Saturday 29 July. Our musicians are going to be running several fantastic events – there will be something for everyone!

Introducing our new life-like and life-sized costume replica of the North Island Brown Kiwi, we have aptly named the ‘Giant Kiwi’.

Child friendly wildlife experiences
Check out the new Wildlife experiences available. There are lots of opportunities to experience the Nature Reserve behind the scenes and up close.

- Ranger Experience, $75 (8.30am – 12.30pm shadow a ranger)
- Kiwi Night Encounter, $30 per Child/$50 per adult. Discover the secret lives of Kiwi at dusk, ages 7+
- Stay overnight in Theo’s Cottage with this special winter rate of $140 per night (valid until 31 August 2023). Stay over after your Kiwi Night Encounter and experience the reserve all to yourself after hours.
Racketlon Holiday Programme
Once again Tawa Tennis, Tawa Squash and Wellington North Badminton are running the Racketlon holiday programme these school holidays.
Players rotate around each sport spending 1.5 hours at each club. Qualified coaches will take each session.
Please note holiday programme is for age 6 years and older.
Monday 10, Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12 July 2023, 9am - 3pm

The Circus Hub
Painting Sessions
Pinot & Picasso is all about exposing people to art in a safe, relaxed and fun environment. A host/art teacher takes the class step by step through a painting, letting everyone walk away with their own masterpiece to be proud of.
Kids classes are generally two hours long and are aimed for ages 7 and up and $39 per child. Parents can stay, or go off for a quiet coffee while they paint.

K-Pop Academy
We wanted to alert you to the release of NZ’s hottest dance show KPA Battle Squad featuring kids aged 7 to 17 who are keen on street dance styles.
KPA Battle Squad launches on 26 June on TVNZ2 at 3.30pm and then streams on TVNZ+.
Fundraiser: Basketball Clinic
The talented U13 boys of the Onslow College Basketball Team who are preparing to compete in the winter regional tournament in Napier.
They have put together a basketball clinic this school holidays to help raise funds for the trip.
