Board of Trustees By-Election

Amesbury Office —

A great opportunity to share your skills and get more involved in your child's education

We recently held an election for five parent representatives on the Amesbury School Board of Trustees. As we only received four nominations for the available five positions, we did not hold an election. This has left us with one position still to be filled. The board has taken the decision to hold a by-election. Standing for election to the board is a great way to get involved in your child’s education.

Parents, caregivers and people from the wider community can all be elected to the board. Most people who are New Zealand citizens can become a trustee. Nominations forms are being posted out to all eligible voters today. Completed nomination forms must be returned to the school office no later than 12:00 noon on Monday 8th August. If we receive more than one nomination for this post, a voting poll will be held. Voting day for this by-election has been set as Monday 22nd August.

We have scheduled a short information session for anyone who is considering standing for election at 5.00pm this Friday 29th July, in the school library. This will provide you with an opportunity to learn more about what the board of trustees does, how your skills may benefit the school and a chance to talk to existing or previous board members.

We look forward to seeing you on Friday evening.
