Non-stop Cricket Festival - a success
Amesbury teams enjoyed their non-stop cricket in the sunshine
Both our teams, the Willows and the Yorkers, had fun running, catching, bowling and smacking the ball around Alex Moore Park.
First up was a game between our two teams. It was competitive with the Yorkers coming out on top. The remaining three games against West Park School, Bellevue and St. Benedict's were closely fought. Scores were not recorded.
It was wonderful to see our students cheering on their teammates and respecting the opposition. The chants could be heard from the other side of the park. Congratulations to Divan and Abhirup who received a Cricket Wellington Spirit of Cricket fair play award each at the end of the day.
Massive thank you to Priya and Nick for helping run the teams and transport students. You both helped to create a supportive, fair and respectful environment for the students to enjoy the games. Also, thanks to Bireswar and Eshan for taking students to and from the game, too.
See the photos for the students in action and team shots.
Well done everyone.
