Talk with your tamariki about their choice

Kia ora e te whānau,

As we head into the end of 2025 we are enquiring about your child/ren's interest in taking on a kaitiaki role (leadership role) for 2026. Here are some of the roles below - Please note that some roles are year dependent.

Year 4-6 Leadership roles

• Churtonleigh Hospital Helpers (A group of tamariki create a plan e.g. reading stories, acting, games etc. They then head to the hospital to hang out with our elderly community).

• Librarians (Help Kirat out in the Library) 

Year 5&6 Leadership Roles

• Office Messengers

• Supervising / supporting the Year 0 & Year 1 students in their classroom when it's wet at break times

• Mug runners (Checking classes for dishes)

• Tidying up the kitchen/makerspace

• Running a club/supporting an existing club (eg. Chess, dance) ?

Year 6 Leadership Roles

• Share & Celebrate (Hosting our fortnightly share & celebrate)

• PE gear monitors

• Morning Tea and Lunch duty monitors /peer support roles 

A google form will be coming out in Week 9 (the coming week) for your child/ren to fill in during transition week. Please have a chat with your tamariki so they know what roles to select.
