Amesbury Speech Competition
This is a great opportunity for all students to create and present a short speech on something that has meaning to them.
Tēnā koutou, whānau,
Amesbury School will be hosting a speech competition for our tamariki in Term 4. It is open to students of all ages, and they may choose to talk about any topic that is of interest to them. Speech time limits:
- Year 0-1 - between 30 seconds to 1 minute
- Year 2 - between 1 minute and 2 minutes
- Year 3-4 - between 1min30sec and 2min30sec
- Year 5-6 - between 2min30sec and 3min30sec
A sign up for the speech competition will be sent out in Week 1 of Term 4 with some further information.
Heats will take place in Week 3, Term 4 (4th + 5th November). These will be judged by hub teachers, and each age group (Y0-Y1, Y2, Y3-4, and Y5-6) will send their three top students to the final, which will take place in our school hall on 19th November. At the final, speeches will be judged by guest judges who will be looking for speeches with excellent structure, strong voices, and audience interaction.
