School Notices - 8 June 2020

John Murrihy —

If you haven't noticed, winter is here so keep warm and dry - but school continues ....

What's on?

Co-curricular Lessons

Our co-curricular lessons have recommenced for Term 2.

For those that have been asking, all invoices have now been placed in your school shop accounts. For ease of understanding, there are six sessions this term, plus for those doing lessons last term there will be some credits brought forward due to the abrupt end due to covid-19. If you have any queries or I've made a mistake please email me, John, communications@amesbury.school.nz

We still have a few vacancies in a few of our classes if your child is interested - first in, first served. We have additional teacher hours for those classes that were previously over prescribed. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer gymnastics this term.

If you want to see what co-curricular lessons are please visit our webpage. If you have any questions not covered, or you want to sign your child up, please contact John communications@amesbury.school.nz.

It's that season again ... puddles and mud!

Please pack a spare set of short/pants/leggings and underpants in the school bag (for all ages) with a plastic bag to put the wet clothes in, and let your child know that they are there for them, as many students prefer to change into their own clothes when they get wet and muddy. We have limited space to hold a small selection of spares but are not always able to cater for all sizes and 'requests'.

Timesaving hint for collecting a student for an appointment during school hours

Please allow time to sign yourself in (for contact tracing purposes) and time for your child to be located and signed out. It's faster and easier to locate students when they are in class rather than at playtime, so best to do pickup before or after these times:

Morning Tea: 11 - 11.30am

Lunchtime: 12.50 - 1.40pm

Lost Property

  • 5 un-named fleeces (3 in photos at the bottom of these notices, plus a size 2 and a size 8)
  • 1 black Nike shoe without laces
  • 1 Sampras Tour tennis racquet
  • 1 pink and white soft pig toy
  • 1 'tree of life' necklace pendant
  • 1 plastic spoon in a cloth case with zip
  • 1 lunch box (see photo below)

Uniform

Labelling: please check that the names on fleeces are clear and able to be easily read.

Reminder: only black long sleeved tops are to be worn under the polo top and jeans are not permitted as part of the school uniform.
