Northern Suburbs Netball Wellington 2022

Eilis Cassidy —

Is your son/daughter interested in representing Amesbury School in this year's netball competition? Registrations are now open.

Netball resumes in Terms 2 & 3 for all kura (schools) in the Northern Suburbs. We are looking for any tāne or wāhine (boys or girls) from years 3-6 to register now. We also require a number of coaches and managers to allow our ākonga (students) a chance to represent Amesbury School.

These teams are social teams: Teams will also have practice sessions. The focus for these teams is developing an interest and love of the sport. Games take place on Saturdays. Games for Y5&6 are a little more competitive and take place on Saturdays at Newlands. Please note that in the red alert system spectators are not permitted to attend the games. However, Year 5/6 teams need to provide umpires who may be the coach, manager or parent. There is a one off umpiring session on 4 May that must be attended. Please let Eilís know if you’re interested in being an umpire via email on eilis@amesbury.school.nz.

Cost: The fee for 2022 will be confirmed once teams are finalised. Please note that team fees are payable even if you should decide to withdraw at a later stage. The invoice for fees will be added to your child’s account in the school shop, and will need to be paid prior to the first game. Please be advised that the fee for Year 3 & 4 teams was around $50 per player in 2021. Fees were a little more expensive for the Year 5 & 6 teams.

Uniforms for all teams

Year 3-6 students will need to have an Amesbury school sports top and wear appropriate sport shoes. Skirts will be provided for the girls but the boys are welcome to wear black shorts.

NOTE: These tops are a smaller 'sports fit' than the uniform polo tops (approx. one to half a size smaller).

If your child does not have a sports top, it can be ordered via the school shop. You are more than welcome to come in and try it on with your child if you are unsure of sizing. Orders for sport tops need to be placed no later than the end of Term 1.
