Term 4 dates have been confirmed for all students across the kura (school) and parent help is required.

Course Overview

The Beach Ed programme includes clubhouse, beach and water activities. Students will use critical thinking in order to learn life saving knowledge; including how to identify and escape from rip currents, and how to practise safe and fun ocean activities.

Beach Ed is a full-day interactive course taught at select beaches across the country, delivered in a controlled and safe manner. All of the instructors are fully qualified Surf Lifeguards who have also completed a course on safeguarding children. 

Tamariki will be transported to and from the venue by bus on the day. A consent form plus more details on what they will need to bring will be shared at a later date.

Given the higher adult to student ratio around water we must meet the recommended guidelines of 1 adult for every 5 children. We would greatly appreciate your help on this day and ask for you to confirm your availability with Eilís via email on eilis@amesbury.school.nz.
