Koru Swimming - what you need to know

Hannah Sadler —

We are excited for Koru to be swimming this term. Here is everything you need to know beforehand.

Koru Hub is swimming at Johnsonville School Pool every Thursday, beginning on the 30th of April (Week 2) to 18th of June (Week 9).

Click here to see which group your child is in (for both swimming and nonswimming students). On Thursday mornings, please head straight to your swimming space, instead of whānau space, to sign in and swim bag checks. The first group leaves promptly at 9 am.

All students and staff will travel to the pool by bus. We will all be back at school by the end of lunchtime. At the end of the day, your child will be back in Te Rito or Koru Rōpū for pick up.

What do you need to bring?

  • A big lunch! Students can get very hungry after swimming, so we recommend packing a big lunch to keep up their energy.

  • Togs, a towel and a swim cap, all named.

  • A big swimming bag. Students will need to fit their school uniform (fleece included), shoes and a towel in their swimming bag while they swim. We highly recommend packing a big swimming bag (e.g, a reusable supermarket bag) to fit everything.

  • Goggles are also very useful, but not compulsory.

  • It is recommended that, if possible, students wear their togs under their uniform so they are able to quickly change at the pool.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to get in touch with your whānau teacher, or Hannah hannah@amesbury.school.nz
