Pōhutukawa Camp Week Summary

Kalesha Segatta —

Our tamariki had a wonderful week full of fun and exciting activities recently and we wanted to let you know about the things that we did.

On Monday 5th December some of our ākonga headed to El Rancho for 5 days. Whilst there, we were able to take part in a wide range of activities such as:

  • Archery

  • Kayaking

  • Bivouac Building

  • Wilderness Survival

  • Rock Wall Climbing

  • Confidence Course

  • Low Ropes

  • Ball Sports

  • Waterslide and Pool

It was so wonderful to see our ākonga getting involved with these activities and trying their best to take on a challenge and give new things a go!

We were treated to some wonderful food while we were there and thoroughly enjoyed the quality time that we got to spend with our tamariki during meal times and in the evenings. We were even lucky enough to witness some fantastic jokes, beatboxing and dance moves from some of our tamariki!

Our ākonga that stayed at school for the week had a wonderful time exploring Te Papa, the Botanical Gardens and Ōtari Wilton's Bush. They were treated to some lovely weather on these days which made them even more enjoyable!

These ākonga were also able to make some delicious banana bread at the beginning of the week and had a wonderful time sharing a wealth of fun and laughter together throughout the week.
