Share & Celebrate - Week 4
Every fortnight we have a whole school Share and Celebrate in the hall, where we will gather as a school, sing some waiata (songs), and celebrate some of the fabulous things that have been happening in the past two weeks.
On Friday we held our second Share & Celebrate event, and spent time together as a whole school sharing positive things we have been noticing over the past few weeks.
Our Share & Celebrate events are not just for in-school achievements. If your child has been involved in something outside of school that deserves a mention in our celebrations, please let your child's whānau teacher know and we will add it to our list for the next Share & Celebrate.
Below are the ākonga who were celebrated this week.
- Shiloh, Cassidy, Kikki, Issie P: Showing super kaitiakitanga (guardianship of our environment) by noticing that the giant chess pieces were dirty and spending time cleaning them so ākonga (students) can use and enjoy them.
- Rohan K: You showed fabulous leadership in our emergency evacuation, leading the group over to the evacuation place when your kaiako (teacher) needed to support several students. You were a great role model, showing other students how ot behave in an emergency.
- Aiden L: During our trip to Te Papa you were a wonderful friend and guardian for one of our international students, translating important information for them and checking they always knew where to go. You were caring, thoughtful and attentive, well done!
- Kiera T: Well done for noticing some paper towels on the floor by the bin in Koru Hub. You didn't wait to be asked, but you just scooped them all up and popped them in the bin because you knew it was the right thing to do.
- Bella W: One day at lunch time the school bikes were left everywhere all over the bike shed. You helped to sort them and tidy them up. Thanks for being so helpful, Bella.
- Arthur: Last week at the end of lunch time the people who had been playing giant chess left the peices out. You were walking past and noticed they were still out, so you got stuck in and put them all away. Fabulous kaitiaki work.
- Azariah: Last week when we had our ki-o-rahi session you were enjoying the games everyone was playing but you also noticed a chippie packet blowing across the field so you chased after it and gathered it up. Thank you for showing you care about our school environment.
- Leo Y: For being amazing during tidy up time. Thank you for always helping to tidy up!
- Jordan: Super work being an amazing 'mat master' and showing others how to sit and focus well on the mat. You also did so well staying on task and and being so focused on your maths learning.
- Andy X: You have been kind and helpful each day, holding doors open for students and teachers. If something needs doing, you often do it without a teacher asking you to do it. Thank you for helping to make Pōhutukawa Hub a nice place to be.
- Armand: Thank you for helping organise the bike shed at the end of lunchtime on Monday. You were so kind and thoughtful.
- Nakshathra: Kaiako (teachers) have been very impressed with you and how seriously you have been taking her work. You have been working hard to get your inquiry work done to a high standard. Fabulous learning focus, Nakshathra.
- Yiqi: Kirat, Brydon and Rachel have been very impressed with how you have been helping our international students. You have shown real manaakitanga by helping these students adjust to being in Aotearoa New Zealand, translate information and instructions, and understand individual activities and overall lessons.
- Taniela: Taniela was feeling nervous about being in a new group but he fully participated and followed all instructions. He worked hard in his learning and was an excellent 'mat master' as well. Well done for being brave and giving something new a go.
Ka rawe, awesome work from all of our amazing ākonga this week. Well done for being resilient, helpful, focused and kind. We are loving celebrating these achievements, and we can't wait to see the amazing efforts and contributions being celebrated in our next Share & Celebrate in Week 6.
