Harakeke Camp Information #2
Preparations are in full swing for our Harakeke Hub EOTC week. Please read below for the latest camp updates.
Kia ora whānau,
Here is the link to the first notice that was sent out in regards to our camp.
Brief camp outline:
Monday 5th December
Students will opt into activities within school time.
Tuesday 6th December
We will go on a self guided Zoo trip during the day.
Students to arrive at school between 8.30 and 9.00am so we can promptly catch the bus.
We will arrive back at school around 3.00pm.
Parent help is required to ensure this trip runs smoothly. Please fill out this form by the 19th of November if you are available to go on this excursion with us.
Wednesday 7th December
Students continue with the activity they opted into at the beginning of the week.
Thursday 8th December
12:30 - 2.45pm students will walk to Churton Park Reserve and have some time to play there.
We invite parents to join us during this afternoon. Please fill out this form to let us know that you intend to join us. We may require some help to carry sports equipment across to the park and cross roads safely.
All students will then go home at the end of the school day.
Harakeke Hub will have an overnight camp at school on this day. Those students staying over will return to school between 5.00 and 5.30pm (in non uniform) with their gear. We will have a shared dinner altogether and then sleep overnight in the hub.
Friday 9th December
On Friday we will have a shared breakfast and pack up the hub with students that stayed overnight.
The children who did not stay overnight can arrive back at school from 8:30am (in non-uniform).
Morning tea and lunch will be provided for students that stayed overnight.
All children can wear non-uniform for the day.
We will finish the day with a movie.
Parent helpers:
We require parent helpers for two trips (see the details below). Please fill out this form to indicate your availability to help.
Cost:
We are still confirming overnight and day trip costs.
Other information:
A camp gear list will be sent home a week before camp. Please be aware that students will need to bring a sleeping bag and possibly light/torch.
Students will wear school uniform during from Monday to Thursday during week. All students will be in non-uniform on Friday.
