Netball registrations open!
Netball is in Term 2 and Term 3 for all kura (schools) in the Northern Suburbs. Your child can represent Amesbury School and develop their netball, communication and collaboration skills.
Registrations close on Monday 30th of March at 3 pm. Unfortunately, we can not accept late registrations.
We are looking for any of our mighty wāhine and tāne from Years 1-6 to register now. We require a coach per team in order for our ākonga (students) to represent Amesbury School. Parents are expected to manage on the day, too.
These teams are social teams. The focus is to develop an interest and love of the sport. Coaches can set up practice sessions if they wish.
Coaches and umpires:
We will be needing coaches and umpires for each team! If you are keen to help out, please fill in the coaching and umpire section of the registration form. If we do not have enough coaches and umpires for the teams, the teams will be unable to participate in the season.
Changes to Year 5 and 6 Netball:
This year, Years 5 and 6 will be moving to traditional 7-aside netball. This is an exciting change and we think the players will be excited too. This is a chance for tamariki to learn about the different positions and rules before moving to more senior levels of Netball.
Cost
The fee for 2026 will be confirmed once teams are finalised. Please note that team fees are payable even if you decide to withdraw at a later stage. The invoice for fees will be added to your child’s account in the school shop, and will need to be paid prior to the first game.
Dates
Games are on Saturday afternoons during Terms 2 and 3. Dates will be confirmed soon. Team training sessions will be decided and organised by the coaches.
Uniforms
Years 1 & 2 do not need to wear Amesbury School sports tops. They can wear any school uniform top and comfortable sports shoes.
Year 3-6 students will need to have an Amesbury School sports top, black bottoms (leggings, shorts and skirts are fine), and wear appropriate sports shoes.
The sports top can be worn when representing Amesbury School (tournament/sports team/kapa haka), on sports days (cross country, athletics, swimming), and on the day a student's team does sports/PE.
NOTE: These tops are a smaller 'sports fit' than the uniform polo tops (approx. one to half a size smaller).
If your child does not have a sports top, it can be ordered via the school shop. You are more than welcome to come in and try it on with your child if you are unsure of sizing. Orders for sport tops need to be placed no later than the end of Term 1.
