Senior Athletics & Northern Zone - 3 helpers needed

After the postponement las week due to the adverse weather, the senior athletics was held this week at Nairnville Park.

Eilís has provided a full report and heaps of photos for you to enjoy.

A number of our tamariki now advance to the Northern Zone Athletics which will be held this coming Monday (30 October). We wish them all the best as they do their best.

Amesbury is responsible for officiating at the girls' long jump. Three adults are required for this and we would greatly appreciate your help. Please let Eilís (eilis@amesbury.school.nz) know if you are available on Monday between 9:15 and 1:45pm.

Junior Athletics - Tuesday (31 October)

Just a reminder that we are holding our Junior Athletics Day at school this Tuesday (31 October).

Tamariki are to come to school at the normal time but wearing suitable clothing and footwear for the day. Tamariki must have their school fleece and sunhat as they will spend considerable time outside on this day. 

We welcome whānau to come along to support from 9:40am. Events will take place on the field area in front of Koru. If the weather is unfavourable, the event will be postponed until Thursday 2nd November. (We will let you know in advance if this occurs).

Cultural Festival - Hangi Orders close Monday (30 October)

The cultural festival is taking place on Friday 10 November to coincide with the official opening of our new building and the Book Fair. Everyone is invited and encouraged to come along and participate in the experience.

Please note the close off date for placing Hangi orders is this coming Monday (30 October) - so only a few days left, otherwise you miss out).

Bake Sale at Cultural Festival

In conjunction with the cultural festival on 10 November, we are also having a Bake Sale

We are looking for baked donations especially treats from a variety of countries as well as helpers to set up and assist in the selling of all the goodies. If you can help please contact Gina (gina@amesbury.school.nz).

Annual Book Fair in Term 4, Week 5 - Volunteers Needed

Our Annual Book Fair is taking place in Term 4, and also coincide with our Cultural Festival, which enables extended hours giving everyone a more relaxing opportunity to browse though the vast selection of books.

In her Book Fair information article, Kirat has provided details on what is happening together with all the operating times. Of course, to ensure that everything runs smoothly, she is looking for volunteers to assist. No special abilities required, simply a willingness to give up some of you time. If you can help please email Kirat (kirat@amesbury.school.nz) and let her know.

Churton Park Poetry Competition 2023

The second Annual Churton Park Community Poetry Competition will be held this term with entries closing on Monday 6 November followed by the celebration event with placegetters announced on Friday 17 November.

So if you are a creative writer or simply want to have a go then read all the details here and complete the registration form contained within.

End of Years Camps - Volunteers still needed

Our end of year camps for Koru & Pōhutukawa are coming up from 27 November - 1 December. All the details below:

To ensure that we have a safe and enjoyable experience we still need some volunteers to help out. If your tamariki are in either of those Hubs and you are able to assist, please contact the appropriate person in the respective hub articles.

Enrolment Reminder - Rāroa Intermediate

Rāroa Normal Intermediate would like to remind any Year 6s to please enrol for 2024. 

In order for them to effectively place your child, they would appreciate any students intending to go to Rāroa to have their enrolment completed as soon as possible. This link will take you directly to Rāroa's enrolment form.

Kelly Club

This coming week is Halloween week at Kelly Club! We have so many cool activities planned, such as decorating spooky cupcakes, a halloween scavenger hunt, and making creepy crawlies! We can't wait for all the fun to begin.
