Amesbury Games Final Update

Eilis Cassidy —

The anticipation has been growing threefold amongst our tamariki this week ahead of our inaugural Amesbury Games.

Thursday of this week will see all hubs take part in a fun-filled day of activities and sports on our school grounds. Students will be developing their movements and precision as well as building some teamwork skills. The aim of these games is to have all children involved and give something new a go in a fun and encouraging way.

There will be a set number of stations posing different challenges for the children to move around with their whānau teacher. These challenges will be age appropriate and include different equipment. Parents and whānau are very welcome to come along to watch and support our students on the day.

  • Block 1 From 9:15am  Pōhutukawa
  • Block 2  From 11:45am  Harakeke
  • Block 3  From 1:50pm  Koru

*Please note - As this is transition week the students will be in their hubs for next year.

The Amesbury Games is a great opportunity for us to raise money to help fund the Kiwi Hoops programme which will happen in Term 1 next year. Cash will be collected in school but we encourage you to make any final donations through your child’s Kindo account under the ‘fundraising’ option. Friday will be the last day for all money collection. We greatly appreciate your support in delivering a high quality physical education programme for our tamariki as we strive to provide as many new opportunities as possible.

Children are most welcome to wear their activewear or sports tops on Thursday.

Warm regards,

Eilís
