Year 5/6 Camp to Forest Lakes

Kia ora koutou,

The Year 5 and 6 camp will take place from Monday 5 December - Friday 9 December 2016 (Week 9, Term 4). The location for Year 5 and 6 camp will be Forest Lakes Camping and Conference Centre, Otaki. We will be staying at Main Camp.

Travel:

We will be travelling by bus. We will leave Amesbury School at 9:00am on Monday 5 December and return to Amesbury School by 3:00pm on Friday 9 December. We ask parents and caregivers to drop off students at school by 8:15am on Monday and pick students up from school by 3:00pm on Friday.

Camp Programme:

Activities have been planned with the Forest Lakes coordinators to ensure the activities are age and ability appropriate. Below is the outline of the activities planned.

Monday - Travel by bus to Forest Lakes Camp. Settle and orientation at camp. Camp activities over the afternoon. Evening programme. Please send your child with both morning tea and lunch today as we will not be provided with morning tea or lunch at camp this day. We would appreciate it if your child could bring baking, a bag of chips or a bag fruit for morning and afternoon teas.

Tuesday - Camp activities rotation of horse riding*, nature trail walk, swimming and flying fox. Free play. Evening programme.

Wednesday - Walk around the lake at camp. Camp activities over the afternoon. Evening programme.

Thursday - Camp activities rotation of mini golf, kayaking*, volleyball/croquet and Gladiator*. Free play.  Evening programme.

Friday - Camp pack up and clean. Free play. Travel by bus back to Amesbury School.

*When we involve your children in activities that have an element of risk (all activities marked with an asterix) we use qualified camp instructors to operate and run the activities. For all other activities, we will have the required number of adults monitoring students.

Camp Payment: Please ensure you have made the final payment by 30 November 2016.

Please note your child will not need any money for this trip as all activities will be at camp.
