Amesbury School

Kia ora

We, as a nation and as a school, have moved into Phase 3 of the Red Level of the Covid-19 Protection Framework (wow, that's a mouthful). For Amesbury, this means that we have 'tweaked' how we respond in the event of a positive case within the school community. For the precise details please carefully read Urs's article.

What has not changed is our primary goal of keeping all students and staff safe. This, unfortunately, has resulted in less Amesbury community interaction both with parents and caregivers, but also within the school as we not only keep hubs separated but also groupings within hubs, as far as possible.

Thanks to our dedicated teachers, we also have the ability to implement Hybrid Learning to ensure that whether teaching and learning takes place onsite, or whether students or teachers are offsite, quality teaching and learning will continue.

One of the disadvantages of parents not coming onsite, as freely as in the past, is that you miss out on seeing the ever changing vista 'behind the fence' as the construction of our new Hub continues. Fortunately, it has now popped it's head above the fence-line as all the steel framing is now in place. For those that have been into the school grounds in the last week, you will also have seen the parking bays taken up with large quantities of framing ready for installation. The next few months will be exciting as all the exterior work continues to take place.

On that progressive note, we leave you in peace for the rest of your weekend. Have a fruitful and safe week. Kia kaha (stay strong)!
