Year 3/4 Palm Grove Camp: Notice #3

Kia ora whānau, Our year 3 and 4 camp is almost here!

We will be heading to Palm Grove camp in Paraparaumu on Thursday the 2nd of December - Friday 3rd of December. Thank you to everyone who has paid the invoice in the school shop. 

Please read the following information carefully. This will ensure camp will run smoothly for your child.

Gear list:

Please ensure your child has plenty of spare clothes that are okay to get dirty and wet. All campers are required to bring the following:

Day pack:

  • Lunchbox: Morning tea, lunch, afternoon snack (for Thursday - camp will provide Friday’s lunch)

  • Drink bottle

  • Jumper - warm jersey

  • Rain jacket

  • Sun hat

  • Optional: Sunblock. We will have school sunblock available for students at all times.

Overnight bag:

  • Plate, bowl, knife, fork, spoon, tea towel

  • Sleeping bag

  • Sheet (Under level 2 children must bring a sheet to sleep on)

  • Pillowcase (pillows are provided, however, students must bring their own pillowcase)

  • Clothing suitable for outdoor activities

  • Warm clothing for the evening activities

  • Underwear and socks

  • Pyjamas

  • Togs and towel x 1 (inside a plastic bag at the top of your overnight bag)

  • Toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush and general wash gear

  • Spare towel

  • Optional: A teddy/soft toy

  • Any medication required

  • Plastic bag for wet or dirty clothing

Students must not bring any devices (cell phones, iPads, iPods, cameras) or lollies or chocolate.

Medical:

If you recorded that your child will need to have medication on camp, please bring this to school on camp morning. Eilis will be the teacher in charge of collecting all medication. All medication must be in a named zip lock bag. Please record the time of day and dosage your child will require the medication.

We will have Pamol in our medical kit. Therefore, students do not need to bring their own. We will only administer Pamol as needed and only to those children who have permission given on their consent form.

Please note: The morning of camp will be very busy. Teachers will not have time to discuss medication details with you. If this is a concern, please email Natalie (natalie@amesbury.school.nz) or Zelda (zelda@amesbury.school.nz).

Teachers will read all medical information prior to camp morning.

Morning of camp:

  • Students will need to be at school by 8:45 am

  • Students will bring all of their gear to the hall

  • Students to leave their shoes on
