Kia uru kahikatea te tū; Success through unity of purpose.

Kia ora e te whānau,

As we move through the term, it's been wonderful to see the high levels of engagement and enthusiasm across the school. There has been a fantastic buzz in our learning spaces, and it has been a pleasure to spend time in hubs during our maths sessions recently. In Māwhero, our youngest ākonga were using apples to collectively work out basic facts, showing great collaboration and curiosity. Over in Koru main group, students were practicing their skip counting and times tables to strengthen their multiplication skills. Meanwhile, Pōhutukawa learners were diving into number talks, problem-solving within open-ended contexts, and showcasing deep mathematical thinking. Throughout the school, we are seeing purposeful learning in action, with a wide range of grouping strategies and interactive approaches keeping students engaged.

Our Share & Celebrate today was a fantastic reminder of the dedication and positivity within our school community. It was inspiring to hear ākonga being recognised for their focus, effort, leadership, and friendship. The support and encouragement our tamariki show each other every day is something to be proud of.

Arriving at School

We have noticed an increasing number of ākonga arriving at school before 8:30am. A friendly reminder that our learning spaces open at 8:30am, and there is no supervision available in the school grounds before then. As the mornings become colder and wetter, we encourage families to ensure their tamariki arrive at school from 8:30am onwards to keep them warm and safe.

Get Involved

There are plenty of ways for whānau to connect with our school community in the upcoming weeks. Whether it's helping out at the school discos, coming along to parent focus meetings, coaching sports teams, or assisting with sports days and events, your involvement is always valued. Check out the parent involvement section on our school website for more details on how you can contribute and be part of the learning journey for ngā tamariki.

Thank you for your ongoing support in making our school a vibrant and engaged learning environment.

Ngā mihi nui
