Amesbury hosts Chinese Key Opinion Leaders

This week we were honoured to host a delegation of Chinese social media stars, who were in New Zealand to showcase our education system.

The delegation was organised by Education New Zealand and the New Zealand Government to help promote New Zealand education in China. The three social media stars have upwards of 100 million followers across a variety of social and traditional media platforms, including influential new magazine, Sanlian Life Weekly.

Amesbury welcomed the group with a pōwhiri, followed by a quick session with Lesley to discuss learning at Amesbury. There were a lot of questions as anecdotes of how learning occurs in China were compared with New Zealand!

The group then spent an hour touring the school and observing our literacy lessons in action. Our children impressed them with how articulate they were about what they were learning, and how they were learning.

We finished up by presenting the group with Amesbury taonga to remember their time with us. The group went on to visit Wellington College, Massey University as well as enjoying Te Papa and Weta Workshop.
