Principal's Report
As part of our focus on Community this year, the Māhuri students worked with Rowan from the Dunedin City Council this morning to learn more about the new wheelie bins being introduced into Dunedin in July. There were some excellent discussions on how we can reduce rubbish, as well as learning about what should be put into each bin.
It is wonderful to have our new Room 1 classroom up and running this week. Mr Carvell and the Year 1 children have had a great week together and the children are excited about their learning in this classroom.
Spotlight on Possums Peninsula Schools Competition
It would be great to see as many families as possible supporting the Spotlight on Possums Competition, which runs from Saturday 15th til Sunday 23rd June during the hours of darkness. This is a fantastic way of demonstrating our theme for the year of “active communities have active members”. If you would like to get involved, please see the information in this newsletter. Matariki Breakfast - Save the Date:
On Thursday 27 June at 7:30 a.m. we will be holding our annual Matariki breakfast. This is a special opportunity for our whole school community to come together to celebrate Matariki. More information on this event for our school families will be sent out shortly.
