Principal's Report

Pauline Simpson —

Week Two

Principal Appreciation Day

On Wednesday this week I was greeted at my office door on arrival with a string of hearts written by students for Principal Appreciation Day. There were many more hearts adorning the staffroom. I feel so grateful to be part of a school where the students and staff actively demonstrate such a deep sense of community. I have included some photos this week of some of the great learning that goes on in each classroom. I am always warmly welcomed into classes and I love the enthusiasm with which our students are able to talk about their learning.

Readathon

On Monday you should all have received information and a sponsorship card for this year’s Readathon. We would love your support with this annual fundraiser, as all money raised goes directly back into reading resources for the students. Last year we were able to purchase some fantastic new library books, sets of class novels for the senior classes and a range of junior reading books.

Students have been asked to gather sponsors before Monday 12 August and to read as much as they can during the week of Monday 12 - Monday 19 August. Readathon week coincides with Aotearoa NZ School Library Week, so we will be having lots of great reading opportunities happening at school during that week too.
