Principal's Report

Pauline Simpson —

The children all enjoyed today’s Wear It Your Way day and we had beautiful sunny weather to enjoy as well! We are all looking forward to the school Tryathlon on Sunday 25 February. As well as the children’s events, the PTA have organised some great food and drink stalls and a water slide. This is a great community event and we hope to see you all there.

Friday School Assemblies

Just a reminder during Term One assembly on a Friday afternoon will be held in the School Hall.

School Contribution

A huge thank you to everyone who has already paid the School Contribution donation for 2024. If you are wanting to take advantage of the 10% discount, please organise your payment before 1 March.

The school contribution covers the cost of school trips, swimming lessons, school shows and other activities during the year. Our first school trip for this year will be in March when all classes will go to Orokonui Ecosanctuary as part of our science and social sciences programme. Our focus for the year is on Communities and we are looking at how thriving communities have active members. I am sure there will be a lot of great learning happening on this trip and plenty of follow up when the children get back to school.

Te Reo Māori Extension Group

Our Te Reo Māori extension class will start next week and will run on Tuesdays from 2:15 - 2:50 p.m. While our building work is underway this class will take place in the hall during Term One. If you are interested in your child being part of this class, please let me know. Whānau are welcome to come along to any class sessions.

Kā mihi nui
