Principal's Report
This week we have had Karli from the “Food for Thought” programme working with our Rākau students on developing their understanding of healthy food choices. The children have explored ideas about what’s in their food, understanding different food groups and how different foods support good health.
We have also been fortunate to have Constable Ross Greer working with our Māhuri students as part of the Keeping Ourselves Safe programme. One way that you can support your children at home with these ideas is to make sure they know their street address and your mobile phone numbers. This can be fun to practise at home.
Teacher Only Day this Friday - a reminder that there is no school tomorrow for students.
Building Work at School
To make the most of our Teacher Only Day, Naylor Love will start work on replacing the Room 9 facade tomorrow. This is the last part of our current building programme for this block of classrooms. There will be a number of tradespeople on site removing the current Room 9 cladding. There will be vehicles coming and going during the day, as well as removal of hazardous material and we want to ensure all our children and families are safe while this work takes place.
We therefore ask that families do not come onto the school site tomorrow please.
I hope you all have an enjoyable long weekend. We look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday.
