Principal's Report

Pauline Simpson —

Week Eight

On Thursday this week, our choir entertained an appreciative audience in Te Paihere with a lovely bracket of Christmas songs. We are very proud of our school choir and the joy they bring to everyone when they sing. A big thank you to Miss Wood and the choir team for their work this year.

Staffing Update

As the end of the year gets closer, it's a good time to update the community on our staffing for 2025. We will be farewelling Emily Armstrong, Daniel Ashton and Connie Hopkins from our teaching team. We wish these three teachers all the very best as they move on to their next teaching adventure. I would particularly like to acknowledge the work of Mrs Emily Armstrong, who has been at Andersons Bay School for 16 years. Her contribution to kapa haka and school productions has been immense and we will continue to have very fond memories of her time here.

In 2025 we welcome Miss Erin Day and Mrs Kelsey Aston to our teaching team. We are very much looking forward to having them with us at Andersons Bay School.

Year 6 Supper

Our Year 6 students and their families are invited to a Year 6 supper on Thursday 12 December at 6:30 pm. This will be a time for students to share their special memories of their time at Andersons Bay School. We hope to see all Year 6 students and their families at this event.

School Break Up Tuesday 17 December

Our final school day for the year is Tuesday 17 December. This is a full school day and children are expected to wear their school uniform. We will be taking the school by bus to the Edgar Centre in the morning for a break up practice. Children will also be visiting their new classroom and teacher for next year on Tuesday at 12:00 pm.

On Tuesday evening, we will hold our school break up at the Edgar Centre from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. We ask that all students attend this final school event for the year. Students will need to be at the Edgar Centre at 5:45 p.m. They will have a designated seating area in front of where parents are sitting. Children do not need to wear their school uniform to the break up, but we do ask that they dress up in their best clothes or something Christmasy.

Please bring family / whanau members along with you to join in this special celebration of our year and to acknowledge our Year 6 students as they move on to the next step in their learning journey. Please ensure that your child has been to the toilet before they arrive that evening, as there will not be an opportunity for them to do this during the break up.

We will be asking families for a gold coin donation at the door to help with the hire costs for the Edgar Centre.
