BOB BICKERTON

Jacinda Dunbar —

On Wednesday 18th of May Bob Bickerton came to visit our school. He talked about Taonga Puoro which is the Maori word for singing treasures. He also played the instruments and told us the stories about them. My favourite part was when he played the koauau ponga ihu which is a small flute made from a gourd and you play it with your nose, the noise that it made was soft and gentle. We would like to thank him for kindly gifting the school a kit to make our own instruments.
