Principal's Report - Week Two
Upcoming Events
Time Capsule and Open Evening
On Thursday 13 February we will be taking up the time capsule in the hall that was put there in 1996. It will be exciting to open it up and see what was important to the students of nearly 30 years ago. This will happen during our school day at 2:00 p.m.
From 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. on Thursday 13 February, we warmly invite all our community to come and say goodbye to the old school hall. Our current students are invited to come along with families and the wider community. It's a great opportunity to say hello to your child's teacher informally, as well as to view some of the history , including the time capsule, in the hall. A sausage sizzle will be available during the event, $2.00 per sausage (cash only). We would love to see you there.
School Tryathlon
On Sunday 16 February, our school PTA is holding the annual School Tryathlon. This is such a fun event and is a great opportunity to come along and meet other parents. All children are encouraged to enter this event. It involves a run on the top field, a scooter or bike, and a swim in our school pool. The PTA are looking for helpers for this event, so if you have some time available, please put your name down to help on one of the stalls for half an hour.
Stalls include
coffee and cookies
fizzy drink spiders
iceblocks and lollies
barbecue
home baking and preserves
water slide
Home baking and preserves
To help make our tryathlon event a successful fundraiser for the school, we ask that you bring along some home baking / preserves for this stall. These items can be brought along by 11:00 a.m. on the Sunday morning.
We do need your help to make this a successful event. You are able to sign up using the following link:
Hercules Flyover
On Tuesday the whole school assembled on the top field to see the three Hercules planes fly over Dunedin as part of their farewell tour. It is special to see history like this right on our doorstep and we were excited to have the opportunity to participate in the event. You may have seen our photo in the Otago Daily Times this week!
