Principal's Report
Week Five
Thank you to everyone for your support with Wear It Your Way day today. We really appreciate your generosity with sending along a non perishable food item for the Foodbank, which I am sure will be gratefully received.
On Monday our teachers had a great day of learning about ways they can effectively support students in mathematics. It was good to connect in with teachers from other schools on the peninsula to talk about mathematics.
This week the children from Rākau team have been making great progress with their swimming skills. I'm sure the Māhuri children will get a lot out of their swimming lessons too when they start next week. We are really fortunate to have such a well maintained facility on site for our children to use.
Another exciting activity for the children is our disco today. The children are very excited about the opportunity for them to enjoy each others company and learn a few new dance moves.
This week our junior teachers really enjoyed meeting some new prospective families at our New Entrant Open Evening. We always welcome opportunities to build connections with families at events like this. It also helps us to plan our classes for next year when we have accurate enrolment information. If you know of any families who have children turning five next year, please ask them to get in touch with the school office so that they can be added to our pre school list.
